Service manuals mix units freely — Japanese manuals in newton-meters, older American ones in foot-pounds, small fasteners in inch-pounds. One newton-meter is 0.7376 ft-lb; one foot-pound is 12 inch-pounds. The guide table shows typical dry-thread values for common metric bolt sizes by strength class.
