FAQ

The real questions.

What's free, what's paid, what's private, and what's next — answered straight.

The free garage

What do I actually get for free?

The Tora tier, forever: GarageX with one vehicle — decoded specs, the full service log with maintenance reminders, a proper build sheet, a document vault, enthusiast calculators, and a public build page with a QR spec card. No card. No trial clock.

Can I use it for JDM imports, kit cars, or classics?

First-class, not an afterthought. A VIN is optional — add a car by chassis code or fully manual entry, so imports, pre-1981 classics, kit builds, and heavy swaps all get real spec profiles instead of error messages.

What is GarageX, in one breath?

A digital garage that remembers everything about your car — what it is, what you've done to it, what it needs next, and what it cost — and can show the world exactly as much of that as you choose.

Paid tiers & credits

What do Ryu and Kami cost?

Ryu is $12/year (~$1/mo effective) or $2.99/month; it opens the AI tools and the paid half of SceneX and PitX, with zero included credits — you buy credit packs only when you run AI-heavy work. Kami is $60/year (~$5/mo effective) or $8.99/month and includes 75 credits every month plus priority processing. Annual is the default and best rate.

How do credits work?

Credits meter the expensive part — Diagnose, tune starting points, design generation, receipt scanning. They come in packs starting at $20 for 200 (about 10¢ each); pack credits never expire. Kami's 75 a month don't reset — unused ones carry over, up to a 900-credit balance, for as long as the subscription runs. Everyday garage use never touches them.

Can I buy anything today?

Yes. Ryu and Kami are open — sign in and pick a tier on the billing page; credit packs are there too. The free garage stays free, and nothing in it is a teaser for a paywall.

Privacy & your data

Is my garage public?

No. Everything is private by default. Public build pages are opt-in, and you control what appears on them down to individual fields and photos.

What about location data in my photos?

Stripped on upload, before anything is stored or shown — embedded GPS and identifying metadata never make it to a public page. Your home shouldn't be findable from your fender shot.

Do you sell my data?

No. The Privacy Policy says exactly what we collect and why, in plain structure — and "we do not sell your personal information" is in it, verbatim.
