Tire date code decoder

Every tire's sidewall carries a DOT code ending in four digits: two for the week, two for the year — 2319 means week 23 of 2019. Rubber ages regardless of tread depth; many manufacturers advise inspection from six years and replacement by ten, even on unused spares. Codes ending in only three digits are from before 2000 — that tire's decades old.
